In
the Name of God Amen W'IUIAM BOARMAN of Charles County the province of Maryland
being of perfect mind and memorie do make & appoint this my last will &
Testament as follows -- Imprimis, I bequeath my Soul unto the hands of Almighty
God hoping through the merits Death and passion of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ to attaine eternal Salvation and my body to the earth to be decently
buried according to the discretion of my Executrix hereafter mentioned --
2ndly
To the intent that my son may be remembered after I depart this life at the most
holy Sacrifice of the altar, I give unto the Church one Thousand pounds of
Tobacco and unto the poore belonging to the said Church one Thousand pounds of
Tobacco to be paid at the time of my Death --
3dly
I give and bequeath unto my deare & loveing wife Mary Boatman three Mares
namely Robt.
Charles & Ellinor & fifty pounds sterling, due to me by bond from
Ephraim leverton of North Carolina to be paid in pitch and Tarr my said wife at
Receipt of said money to pay unto my Daughter CLARE BOARMAN ten pounds Sterling
Money of England I also give unto my said wife half that Tract or parcel of land
whereon my now dwelling plantation Called Boarmans Rest during her natural life
and I give unto my said wife a good feather bed with other furniture for a Roome

I give and bequeath unto my loving son BENEDICT BOARMAN my now Dwelling
plantation Called Boarmans Rest with all the Land thereunto belonging to him and
his heirs forever provided airways that my said Son and his heirs do keep and
preserve in good order and repair forever the Chappell that is now Standing on
my Dwelling plantation and in Case of any neglect of the said Chappell as
aforesaid by my said Son or his heirs as aforesaid that yearly said land given
as aforesaid to fall and descend
to
the next surviving heir.
I also give unto my said Son two slaves namely Thomas & Mary to him
& his heirs forever --

I give unto my loving Son JOHN BAPTIST BOARMAN one Tract of Land
called
Lanterinan to him and his heirs forever I also give unto my said Son one slave
namely Catherine & her increase and all the rents that shall become due from
Mr. Edward Benson liveing on the aforesaid land -

I give unto my loveing son FRANCIS IGNANUS one tract of Land that was formerly
in possession of Mr. Robert Green it being part of St. George's Rest to him and
his heirs forever and I give unto my said Son two slaves namely Ann and Margaret
with all their increase --

I give unto my loving Daughter MARY BOARMAN two slaves namely Sarah and Henry
with all her increase to her and her heirs

I desire that five hundred acres of Land be taken up by my Executrix at the
Charge of my estate and Given to my Daughter ANN BROOKES to her and her heirs
forever --

I desire that all my stock of hoggs & Cattle may be equally divided among my
wife & my two Sons FRANCIS IGNATIUS and JOHN BAPTIST BOARMAN

It is my desire that all the rest of Goods be equally Divided amongst my three
Sons aforesaid and my wife

In case my Son JOHN BAPTIST should die before he arrives to the age of twenty
and one years or without lawful issue that then what land is by me given to my
said son is my desire should fall and descend to my Son FRANCIS IGNANUS to him
& his heirs forever and in Case my son FRANCIS IGNANUS should dye as
aforesaid my desire is that which land by me given to my said Son do fall and
descend to my son JOHN BAPTIST to him & his heirs forever & in Case both
my said Sons should dye as aforesaid my desire is that what land is by me given
to my said two sons aforesaid do fall and descend to my son BENEDICT to him and
his heirs forever and in case my son BENEDICT should dye as aforesaid my desire
is that what land is by me given to my said son do fall and descend to my two
sons JOHN BAPTIST and FRANCIS IGNATIUS to be equally divided between my said two
sons to them and their heirs forever--

It is my desire that my sons be of age to inherit what is thence given and
bequeathed at the age of eighteen years but not to buy or sell without the
advice and Consent of my Good friends Mr. Benjamin Hall and Mr. Raphael Neale
till twenty one years -- Lastly I do hereby make and appoint my dear and Loveing
wife Mary Boatman my whole and Sole Executrix and Administratrix of this my last
will & testament and desire her to see the same Executed and performed
according to the true intent and meaning thereof and I do hereby nominate and
appoint my loving son BENEDICT BOARMAN and my trust friends Mr. Benjamin Hall
and Mr. Raphael Neale overseers or special friends in trust desiring them to
assist my wife in the execution and performance of this my Last will &
testament as Witness my hand and sea] this sixteenth day of May anno Domini One
Thousand seven hundred and eight.
The
said WILLIAM BOARMAN Declared this to be his last Will and Testament in presence
of us Joseph Pile, John Mathew and John Mudd. (The will was signed WILLIAM
BOARMAN.)
Annexed
to the foregoing will was the following probate & Codicil to wit: At Port
Tobacco in Chandler Town June the 17th 1709 There came Joseph Pile and John
Mathew and made oath upon the holy Evangelist that this will in writing was in
their sight presents signed sealed and Delivered by WIUJ" BOARMAN SENR in
his life time and was in their hearing by the said BOARMAN published pronounced
and Declared to be his last Will and Testament and also the said Joseph Pile and
John Mathew doe further Testify and declare upon oath as aforesaid that John
Mudd was then present and did sign as an Evidence to the name. (This was sworn
before the deputy commissioner Joseph Manning.)

now John Glas lives on to be my son JOSEPH BOARMAN and the Lower part next the
swamp for my son THOMAS JAMES BOARMAN & their heirs forever

it my will that my two son be of age at eighteen but in case that either of my
sons should dye before they come to age JOSEPH BOARMAN & THOMAS JAMES
BOARMAN that then the Survivor shall have all the land but in case they both
should dye and without issue lawfully begotten that then my will is their lands
may be equally divided between my three daughters SARAH, JANE, and MARY Also I
appoint my son WILLIAM BOARMAN to see that all things is performed in full as my
will expresses and be assistant to his mother and his brothers and sisters in
their affairs, likewise I leave my son WILLIAM my best suit of close
Lastly
I give all ye residue of my personall estate to my Loving Wife Mary Boatman whom
I appoint constitute and ordain to be my whole and sole Executrix of this my
Last will and testament, Revoking and making null and void all other wills and
testaments In confirmation of the same I have here underneath sett my hand and
