Notes for Elizabeth Gayden

The will of Elizabeth Gayden Morgan reads as follows: I Elizabeth Morgan by the grace of God being of sound mind and dis??ing memory do make and constitute this my last will and testament hereby revoking and make void all former wills by me at any time heretofore one as to such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to entrust me with.

I wish that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible and of the first money that shall come into the hands of my executons from ?? part of my estate.

I will and bequeath to my beloved son John G. Morgan the following Negro slaves “Jo ??” my woman Pend?? Aged about twenty two years, also her live boy children Felson and Zeke also our bed stand feathers, bed cover, clothing.

I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Diana Gockerham(??) and the lawful heirs of her body my Negro woman Ilane Betty aged about fourty years.

I will and bequeath to my beloved son Fielding Morgan and the lawful heirs of his body my Negro boy Haro Meridy aged about eighteen years.

I will and bequeath to my beloved son Hiram Morgan the following Negro slaves – my girl Elmira aged about eightenn years and the increase of her body, also my woman Clarrisa aged about forty, also my man Charles aged about forty. I also give to my so Hiram my stock of cattle consisting of two cows and calves also one bead stance, feather bed and clothing.

I will and bequeath to my beloved son Wiley Morgan one hundred dollars to be paid to him by my executor out of any money arising from my estate

It is my will that the increase of the woman Pend?? Should there be any also go to my son John G. Morgan.

I further will and bequeath to my beloved sone John and Hiram Morgan all my household and kitchen furniture and all other property and effects that may be my possession at the time of my decease not hence before disposed of and equally divided between them and I do hereby ordain and appoint my son John G and Hiram Morgan executors of this my last will and testament.

In witness thereof, I Elizabeth Morgan, have to ?? my last will set my hand and seal this first day April AD 1852 (She made her mark after the scribe had entered her name)
